  |  | Eusebius Joseph McCleskeyb. 1806
Eusebius Joseph McCleskey (McClusky)   was 
born July 29, 1806 in Abbeville District, South Carolina, the second son of 
Benjamin McCleskey and Mary Williamson.  He married Mary Ann Shropshire on  
March 19, 1832 in Jackson, Georgia, daughter of James Shropshire and Elizabeth 
Cunningham (or perhaps the surname was Quinlin).  She was born April 16, 1813 in 
Kershaw County, South Carolina, and died September 20, 1874. 
 The family lived in Franklin County, Tennessee for a while 
before returning to Jackson County, Georgia.  By 1838 the family was living in 
Alabama, and then by 1846 they had moved to Pontotoc County, Mississippi.  
 The family appears on the 1850 and 1860 federal census of 
Ponototoc County, Missisiippi. 
According to the 1850 census, Eusebius was a farmer.
