Polly Montgomery
1808-1870

POLLY MONTGOMERY (daughter of Robert Montgomery and Rebecca Coffee) was born 1808 in South Carolina,1 and died 1870 in Calhoun Co., Mississippi.  She married GEORGE COOPER.  He was born 1805 in Georgia.1

They settled in what is now the northeastern part of Calhoun County.  This area was originally part of Lafayette County.  Polly's younger sister, Rebecca Jane and her husband James Gideon also settled in this part of the county.  The Gideon land was a half a mile west of Sarepta, MS.  Perhaps this is the general area that the Coopers lived.
